It is with sadness that we received the news that Sir Christopher, who was Chairman of Camper & Nicholsons Marina Investments Ltd between 2008 and 2018 and then Chairman Emeritus, died peacefully at home on 1st October 2023.
Sir Christopher was an international businessman who built the Wilkinson Sword disposable razor business in North and Latin America in the 1960s before becoming chief executive of the Wilkinson Sword Group in 1970. After that business was sold, he became CEO and later Chairman of Tube Investments (TI Group), the UK based engineering group, in 1986. Over the following 15 years he led the transformation of the Group into a global specialist engineering and aerospace giant, returning TI to the FTSE100, before its merger with Smiths Industries in 2000. He was knighted for services to engineering in 1993.
Sir Christopher is survived by his wife, Lady (Louise) Lewinton, 2 sons, 2 stepsons and 7 grandchildren.
